How it works
For each ingredient, multiply each label nutrient by the grams used divided by the label grams, then add the ingredients. Divide totals by your chosen serving count or finished batch weight. The finished weight is measured after preparation, without the container.
Worked example
An example ingredient contributes 540 kcal and a topping contributes 80 kcal. The 200 g recipe totals 620 kcal. Two equal servings each weigh 100 g and contain 310 kcal.
Example values are illustrative, not nutrition data for a specific product.
Getting a useful result
Use labels matching the state in which ingredients were weighed. Include retained oils and sauces. This tool does not look up foods or estimate nutrient losses from discarded liquid or fat. If any ingredient lacks a nutrient, that nutrient total stays unavailable. Weight-based portions assume an even mixture.
Use the preparation state and serving basis shown on your label. The FDA Nutrition Facts guide explains how label nutrients relate to servings. Our calculator methodology documents the arithmetic and limitations.
