How it works

Equal containers divide batch weight and each supplied nutrient by container count. Custom containers receive a share of each nutrient proportional to their weight. Any unallocated batch weight and its nutrition are shown separately.

Worked example

A 1,800 g batch containing 2,400 kcal divided into six containers gives 300 g and 400 kcal per container. A custom 450 g portion is one-quarter of the batch and contains 600 kcal.

Example values are illustrative, not nutrition data for a specific product.

Getting a useful result

Use nutrition totals for the whole finished batch. Custom container weights cannot exceed the batch in total. An even mixture is assumed; separately portion components if ingredients are unevenly distributed. Printed cards are personal portion labels, not commercial Nutrition Facts labels or storage-safety advice.

Use the preparation state and serving basis shown on your label. The FDA Nutrition Facts guide explains how label nutrients relate to servings. Our calculator methodology documents the arithmetic and limitations.
